The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to hold inquiry into a complaint that a vice-president of the anti-corruption committee used to collect tolls from people of different professions including government employees, ACC Public Relation Officer said.
The member of the committee has been identified as Abdur Rashid Bachhu, Vice-President of Chouddogram Upazila Anti-Corruption Commission Committee.
He is also Vice-Chairman of the same Upazila Parishad.
ACC has asked Chittagong Division’s director to look into the matter.
ACC sources said, the vice-president reportedly collected tolls by frightening people of indicting on corruption case. As a leader of the anti-graft watchdog, he tarnished the image of the commission, said an officer wishing anonymity.
