Staff Reporter :The newly-appointed Chairman of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Iqbal Mahmud said that they would probe the stealing of money from the Bangladesh Bank’s (BB) Account maintained with the US Federal Reserve Bank.The ACC Chairman said this to journalists as part of marking the Corruption Prevention Week-2016 at the Jatiya Press Club, Tuesday.”If any Bangladeshi is found involved with the theft, action would be taken against him,” Iqbal Mahmud said.”We will investigate the BB Reserve heist if we are asked to do. But we have not yet got any letter from the BB authority in this regard,” he added.According to the Money Laundering Act-2015, we are empowered to interrogate any individual or organizations, said the ACC Chairman. He, however, urged all sections of people, specially the youths, to come forward to be united to reduce corruption. Nothing is impossible, we have taken all sorts of steps to bring down and prevent corruption, he added.
