The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to launch an inquiry against 94 public representatives (UP chairman and members) from different districts in the country amid the Covid-19 crisis.
The decision was made as the ACC received some specific allegations against them who are allegedly involved in embezzling benefits and depriving the real beneficiaries under the government’s various social security programmes since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic, according to an ACC statement issued on Saturday.
Following the recommendation of the verification and selection committee, headed by AKM Sohail, director general of the commission’s Complaints Management Centre, the anti-graft watchdog agency has taken the decision to conduct an inquiry against 94 public representatives.
