The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is likely to launch investigation against 24 bureaucrats soon, sources said.
The complaints included kickback, irregularities, abuse of power, certificate forging and land grabbing. The Commission had a plan to make an enquiry into allegations against them earlier, but the ACC Act-2013’s Section No-32 (A) was a barrier. As per the Act, prior permission from the government for filing case against any bureaucrat was a condition, said an officer of the Commission. As per the High Court (HC) order, we can now question them, he said. Of the 24 officials, three secretaries, one additional secretary, 11 joint-secretaries.
six deputy secretaries, four senior assistant secretaries and two assistant commissioners may be submitted notices soon, the sources said.
