Sheikh Mohammad Fanafillah, investigating officer of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has visited Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) on Monday to investigate the corruption of its former Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khondokar Nasiruddin.
He parleys separately with the university teachers, officials and staffs from 10am and each of them provided a form to submit their comment in this issue. The subject mentioned in that form is “Complains of bribe, corruption, admission business, recruitment business and irregularities in various types of purchases against Dr Khondokar Nasiruddin, former Vice-Chancellor, BSMRSTU, Gopalganj.”
Later, Fanafillah visited the under-construction buildings of BSMRSTU. Journalists tried to talk with Fanafilah but he refused to talk. ” I’m not permitted to talk with the reporters in this issue.”- he said. BSMRSTU public relation officer Md. Mahbubul Alam said to this correspondent that Fallnafillah will stay at the university till 20th November.
On 18th November a letter signed by Fanafillah sent to BSMRSTU acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Sahjahan asking the details of implemented work under further development project of BSMRSTU and all papers of purchase orders given to Khulna Shipyard and Narayanganj Dockyard.
The letter also asked to provide the details of the students who admitted in 2018-19 academic year and all the papers related to recruitment and promotion in the period of Khondokar Nasiruddin”
Mentionable that, on 30th September Khondoker Nasiruddin resigned from his post amid student protest. Before that the probe committee formed by University Grants Commission (UGC) has found evidence of irregularities and corruption against him and has recommended his withdrawal.
