Staff Reporter :Mohammad Shahidur Rahman, Director General of Water Development Board (WDB), was summoned by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday to face questions on allegedly managing freedom fighter certificate in dishonest way. A letter signed by ACC Assistant Director Selina Akhter was sent to his address asking for his appearance in the Commission headquarters on November 20.The service tenure of Shahidur Rahman ended last December. He later managed the prestigious certificate through forgery for extending his service two years more. Last February, he was assigned the charge of DG in the WDB. In the light of the freedom fighter (FF) certificates managed by 160 officials and employees of WDB, the Commission initiated a probe into the alleged complaint. As part of the probe, the national anti-graft body sent a letter to the Liberation War Ministry seeking relevant documents about the FF certificates of them on April 25 in 2010. In response to it, the Ministry sent the sought documents, which prove 32 employees and officials of WDB as freedom fighters. Shahidur Rahman is one of the remaining 128 whom cannot be confirmed as FFs.
