UNB, Pabna :The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two cases against 13 people, including Bera municipality mayor Abdul Baten, on charge of embezzling state money through misusing power.Deputy assistant director of Pabna ACC office Jalal Uddin filed the case with Bera Police Station on Thursday night. According to the statement of a case, the accused leased out C&B Karmaja Natun Haat for 13 years in two phases instead of one year each showing it as a private property through misusing power.They misappropriated Tk 78.7 lakh as revenue instead of depositing those to the state exchequer.According to another case statement, the accused embezzled Tk 2.3 lakh.Officer-in-charge of Bera Police Station Mashiur Rahman confirmed the matter.
