The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has sued two former officials of Teletalk, the state-owned telecommunication company, for alleged misappropriation of nearly Tk 10 crore.
ACC deputy assistant director Hafizur Rahman filed the case against them with Shahbagh Police Station in the capital on Monday night, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
The case was filed against former assistant
manger (systems operation) SM Tarique Rahman and former assistant manger (market development) Sabibul Rahman Shiblu.
According to the first information report, the two Teletalk officials in collusion with each other misappropriated Tk 9.75 crore keeping the mobile phone numbers of Teletalk out of the billing system by converting the pre-paid phones to postpaid during October 2010-June 2011 period.
Later, the two officials deposited the money into their bank accounts, purchased lands and flats, and also invested in the share market.
