Smuggling of containers: ACC sues 15 Port employees, 2 C&F agents

The Anti -Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday) filed a case against 15 employees of Chittagong Port Authority and two officials of C&F agent on the charges of smuggling containers.Deputy Assistant Director of ACC, Chittagong Sirajul Islam filed the case with the city’s Bandar thana against the port employees, Clearing and Forwarding (C&F) agent officials.
The case statement said the accused in connivance with each others tried to smuggle goods-laden containers from the port jetty and embezzle TK 35 lakh.
The accused in the case include six employees of transport department, nine others of security department of the port and two officials of C&F agent – Abco Enterprise.
The accused in the case are- M Humayun Kabir, Adhir Kanti Chakrabarty, Prodip Kumar Mohajan, Mustafizur Rahman, Shayamal Krisna Bhowmik, M Atiqur Rahman, Saleh Jahur, Sirazul Hoque Mullah, M A Azam Chowdhury, M Monir Ahmmad, M Sagir Ahmmad, M Harun Rashid, Mizanur Rahman, Kamal Uddin Chowdhury, M Nazrul Islam and proprietor of Abco Enterprise M Shah Alam and Jetty Sarkar Borun Kanti Senm police sources said.
