The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated a probe into an allegation that a Tax Commissioner managed freedom fighter certificate through forgery.
On receipt of information, the ACC scrutinised it and took into cognizance.
The Commission on Wednesday issued a letter to its Deputy Director Zulfikar Ali asking him to investigate.
ACC sources said that AKM Borhan Uddin, Commissioner of Gazipur Tax Zone, joined the government service and submitted a fake freedom fighter certificate with other papers.
But his name was not found in Muktibarta, a volume bearing names of freedom fighters.
Besides, he was a minor in 1971.
