The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Thursday approved a case against Suriya Begum, wife of M Fazlul Haque, former Chief Engineer of Roads and Highways Department, on charge of accumulating wealth worth about Tk two crore beyond her known sources of income.
The senior officials of the commission in a routine meeting gave the approval, ACC PRO said, adding that the case might be filed shortly.
Suriya Begum concealed earning of Tk 9.50 lakh in her wealth statement submitted to the ACC as per its inquisitiveness.
Besides, ACC team led by
its Deputy Director Mirza Zahidul Alam during primary investigation found all sorts of absurdities in her wealth statement for Tk 1.78 crore.
