The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sought asset statement from lawmaker Selina Islam, wife of Kazi Shaheed Islam Papul, and their daughter Wafa Islam.
A notice signed by ACC Director Syed Iqbal Hossain has been sent to them asking to furnish information within 21 working days.
Papul, a lawmaker from Lakshmipur-2 Constituency, are in Kuwait Jail from 6 June on
charges of human trafficking and money laundering.
He later admitted his involvement in illegal visa trading and bribery, reported the country’s media.
Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti court began the trial of MP Papul and other accused on 17 September, after rejecting his plea for release, which charged him with human trafficking, money laundering, bribery and threatening state security.
