ACC seeks wealth info from 5 PWD engrs among 9

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) has issued notices against nine people separately including five Public Works Department (PWD) Engineers and their wives to submit wealth statement earned by them.
A letter sent from the ACC head office on Wednesday (December 29) asked them separately to submit their assets’ statement within the next 21 working days. ACC Deputy Director (Public Relations) Muhammad Arif Sadeq confirmed the matter.
It is learned that this notice has been issued as the investigation of the ACC has found the reality of the vast wealth under their possession.
The notice states that the Commission of Inquiry firmly believes that the recipient of the notice owns a large amount of assets / property in his/her own name beyond the knowledge. Therefore, within 21 working days from the date of receiving the notice, his / her dependents are asked to submit statement of all the movable / immovable property, liabilities, source of income and details of acquisition in the prescribed form.
The persons against whom the notice of assets have been issued are Mizanur Rahman Pradhan and Nasrin Rahman, Mohammad Nowshadul Haque and his wife Saleha Begum, Mohammad Ataur Rahman and his wife Sadia Afrin, Aminul Islam and his wife Kalpana Akhter, and Humayun Kabir.
The notice also states that action will be taken against them in accordance with sub-section (2) of Section 26 of the Act if they fail to submit the statement of assets or submit false statement within the stipulated time.
