The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has interrogated two officials of Karnafuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) for eight hours about irregularities in the promotion of 58 officials.
The ACC Integrated District Office Chittagong-1 interrogated them on Tuesday last at latter’s office by ACC Deputy Assistant Director. Sharif Uddin.According to ACC sources, KGDCL’s General Manager (Engineering Service) Engr Md. Sarwar Hossain was interrogated for three hours on Tuesday morning.
Later in the afternoon, KGDCL Manager Sultan Ahmed was interrogated for five hours by the ACC official. Both were quizzed in detail about the irregularities in promotion. KGDCL manager Sultan Ahmed told media that the ACC had sunmoued 58 files of these officials to know about the promotion matter.
Earlier, it was alleged that 57 KGDCL officials were promoted at midnight on August 20. After the news was published in a portal, then the query started. An investigation committee was also formed to probe the irregularities.
Earlier on October 29, the Anti-Corruption Commission sought complete documents regarding the promotion of 57 officials.An ACC official told media on condition of anonymity that all concerned would be called in phases regarding the irregularities in the promotion of 57 officers.
