Staff Reporter :The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is probing into an allegation that Tk 50 crore had been embezzled in the name of renovation of roads under the Jatrabari-Gulistan Flyover project. Only Tk 12 crore was spent in renovating and repairing the 10-kilometre long road from Fulbaria to Kutubkhali, but a bill amounting to Tk 62 crore was submitted by the Dhaka South City Corporation and the Orion Infrastructure Ltd, who jointly did the work. Though the repairing work was done, the road condition did not improve to the desired level. Many parts even now remained dilapidated. Preferring anonymity, an officer of ACC, said, the anti-graft watchdog has already collected documents from the aforementioned organisations and examining those. ACC Deputy Director Abdus Sobhan is investigating the complaint.
