Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched a probe into allegations of corruption against Khondokar Nasiruddin, former VC of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) in Gopalganj.
ACC Director Sheikh Fanafillah will be appointed as the investigating official in the case, the graft watchdog’s public relations said on Wednesday.
Nasiruddin, who stepped down in the face of student protests on Sept 30, is accused of demanding excess fees for
admission, dormitory, medical treatment and credits.
The students began their movement when a student of the university, also a campus correspondent for a daily newspaper, was expelled over a Facebook post. A recorded conversation between the student and Nasiruddin became viral where the VC was heard admonishing the student and making obscene comments about the student’s father.
