The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday approved charge sheets against former BNP lawmaker Mosaddek Ali Falu and his wife on charges of acquiring wealth beyond known sources of income and concealing asset information.
ACC Deputy Director Md Jahangir Alam filed the case against Falu, also Chairman and Managing Director of a private television channel NTV, with Ramna police on May 15, 2017.
ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said Falu was accused of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 17.86 crore. According to case documents, the BNP leader concealed information about his wealth in the asset details submitted to ACC.
The commission also filed a case in the same year against Falu’s wife for allegedly acquiring wealth beyond known sources of income. She concealed information of the wealth worth around Tk 4 crores according to the case.
