Anti-Corruption Commission’s (ACC) newly appointed Secretary Muhammad Delwar Bakht on Monday expressed his firm stance against corruption saying no negligence in dealing with the issue will be tolerated.
“There is corruption behind all sorts of system loss. We will have to resist corruption collectively. We don’t tolerate any negligence in dealing with the issue,” Delwar Bakht said.
The ACC secretary issued a warning in a view exchange meeting with the
staff and officials of the commission at its headquarters of Segunbagicha in Dhaka on Monday afternoon.
Stressing the need for accelerating the speed in the commission’s work pattern, Delwar Bakht said, the allegations sent to the commission office will have to be resolved within the given time.
Claiming that the building of strong resistance against corruption is the heartfelt desire of the nation, he said, “There is no second option than taking hardline against the corruption if we want to strengthen or sustain the development.”
“It is our legal responsibility to resist the corruption and all of us will have to remain above all sorts of corruption. If anyone who indulges in corruption will face dire consequence,” he warned.
Senior officials of the anti-corruption watchdog, among others, were present at the view exchange meeting with ACC Director General Mohammad Munir Chowdhury in the chair.
