ACC interrogates Padma Oil Co MD

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday interrogated Managing Director of Padma Oil Company Limited on the charge of link to corruptions including amassing illegal wealth and recruitment irregularities.
Director of the ACC AKM Jayed Hossain Khan and its Assistant Director Sirajul Islam interrogated Managing Director M Abul Khair for about 45 minutes in the Commission’s headquarters.
AKM Jayed Hossain Khan said that the commission started the inquiry against Abul Khair last year after its primary inquiry found accuracy of a complaint lodged with the Commission by an unknown source.
According to the complaint, Abul Khair was allegedly involved with irregularities in construction of office building in Khulna, construction of refueling terminals at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and Osmani International Airport in Sylhet, contractor firm appointment for caring fuel without tender and accumulating illegal wealth.
The Commission already collected lots of documents from different sources in this regard, sources said.
Two other cases were filed against Abul Khair in connection with corruption allegation. The cases are now under investigations process.
