The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday interrogated former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan and MP Abdul Jabbar about amassing wealth and properties beyond their known sources.
ACC Deputy Director Nasir Uddin and Assistant Director Maksudur Rahman questioned them in the ACC head office.
On February 16, ACC sent a notice asking Abdul Mannan Khan to appear in the Commission on
February 20 but he could not comply with for health reason.
As per the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission (EC), the value of wealth of the former state minister was quoted Tk 11 crore in 2013 whereas he possessed wealth for Tk 10.33 lakh only in 2008.
On January 12 in 2014, the ACC launched investigation into unusual wealth accumulated by seven politicians.
They are former Health Minister Dr AFM Ruhal Haque, former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan, former State Minister for Water Resources M Mahbubur Rahman, Enamul Haque, MP, (Rajshahi-4), Abdur Rahman Bodi, MP, (Ukhia-Teknaf), Aslamul Haque, MP, (Dhaka-14), and Abdul Jabbar, former MP (Satkhira-2).
