ACC grills 7 more RNPP engineers

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has interrogated seven more engineers for their alleged involvement in the cost-related anomalies in the ongoing Green City Housing scheme at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) project in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna.
A team led by ACC Deputy Director Nasir Uddin interrogated them at the Commission’s headquarters in Dhaka on Monday.
ACC spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee confirmed the matter.
ACC sources said, Pabna Public Works Circle Superintending Engineer Debashish Chandra Saha and Deputy Assistant Engineer of Rajshahi Circle Ahsanul Haque were questioned yesterday.
Those who were further questioned on Monday are: Additional Chief Engineer of Rajshahi Public Works Zone Najibur Rahman, former Additional Chief Engineer Shafiqur Rahman, Assistant Engineer of Pabna Public Works Circle Rakibul Islam, and Deputy Assistant Engineers of Rajshahi Circle Md Raushan Ali and Khorsheda Yasariba.
The ACC have already interrogated 12 engineers for similar accusations.
On November 3, ACC summoned 33 RNPP engineers for interrogation.
The engineers were accused of abuse of power, various irregularities, and corruption at the RNPP, according to ACC sources.
