Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed two cases on Tuesday against expelled Juba League Office Secretary Kazi Anisur Rahman and his wife Sumi Rahman for amassing wealth illegally.
ACC Deputy Director Gulshan Anwar filed the cases against them.
The anti-graft body filed a case as Anisur Rahman illegally amassed about Tk 12.80 crore, which was beyond his known sources of income.
The ACC also filed another case accusing Anisur’s wife Sumi Rahman for amassing over Tk 1.31 crore, beyond her known sources of income.
Earlier on October 23 the commission imposed travel ban on both the accused and 20 other persons as part of its investigation into their involvement in casino business and accumulation of wealth through the unknown source of income.
The ban was imposed on the accused after the ACC’s investigation team found primary evidence against them.
