UNB, Dhaka :
The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) faces no interference from the government as it probes into graft allegations against some ruling party politicians, said ACC Commissioner M Shahabuddin on Sunday.
“If the government puts pressure on the anti-graft body, the ACC could not have summoned the MPs to face grilling,” he told reporters at the ACC head office.
Shahabuddin said the ACC is investigating the graft allegations against several politicians. “Whether they got wealth
illegally or not will be known only after the investigation,” he said. Last month the ACC launched probes into the wealth of seven politicians.
ACC is probing into graft allegations against former Health Minister Dr AFM Ruhal Haque, former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan, former State Minister for Water Resources M Mahbubur Rahman, Enamul Haque, MP, (Rajshahi-4), Abdur Rahman Bodi, MP, (Ukhia-Teknaf), Aslamul Haque, MP, (Dhaka-14) and Abdul Jabbar, a former MP, (Satkhira-2).
