The Anti-Corruption Commission has initiated an inquiry against retired lieutenant general Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardi, Bir Bikram for an alleged accumulation of illegal wealth and involvement in money-laundering.
The commission initiated the inquiry in October and assigned an officer to conduct it, an ACC director general told the media on Wednesday.
He said that the former Bangladesh Ansar and VDP director general Sarwardi allegedly accumulated huge wealth abusing his power. The former military officer recently came into discussion after he made some statements against the government and army chief.
