A special team of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested land acquisition officer (LAO) of Pirojpur Md. Sateful Islam (former Kishoreganj LAO) on Wednesday.
He was arrested in presence of Kishoreganj district land acquisition officer from in front of Pirojpur Circuit House.
He was accused of embezzling Taka 5 crore government money through cheating, forgery and misuse of power.
ACC sources said, the special team members of ACC Barisal divisional office and officials of the Barisal integrated district office arrested him for allegedly misappropriating Tk 5 crore.
Before the arrest, the ACC’s Assistant Director of Mymensingh Ram Prasad Mondol filed a case against the accused at Kishoreganj Sadar Model Police Station.
