Officials of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested a land official from Housing Estate area of the city on Sunday afternoon on charge of taking bribe.
The arrestee was identified as Al Mamun, assistant land officer of Harashour union in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria and son of Fazar Ali, a resident of Kurinal village in that district.
Sources at the ACC informed that a case was filed with Brahmanbaria Police Station against Mamun on August 16 with allegations that Mamun took TK 3,75,000 as bribe from a client.
A team of the ACC’s Comilla office, led by its deputy director Abul Kalam Azad, arrested him from the Housing Estate area of the city in the afternoon, added the sources.
