Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested a field level officer of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) for allegedly defalcating Taka 54.67 lakh in Puthiya Upazila of the district yesterday, police said yesterday .
A police officer familiar with the development said ACC officials in cooperation with policemen arrested yesterday RAKUB’s Puthiya Branch supervisor Ekhlasur Rahman and produced before the Court of Senior Judicial Magistrate, which ordered him to be sent Jail to await trial.
ACC Assistant Director Riziya Khatun told the journalists that Ekhlasur Rahman misappropriated Taka 54.67 lakh while he was working in the branch.
A money defalcation case was lodged against him with Puthiya Police Station on September 3, 2013 and he was arrested as after subsequent ACC investigations.
