Farmers Bank scam: ACC arrests AD26.com proprietor

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested Robin Siddiqui, proprietor of AD26.com, an advertisement firm, in a case filed over misappropriating Tk 26.66 lakh from the Farmers Bank Ltd.
Two other accused in the case are AKM Shamim, former Managing Director of Farmers Bank Ltd and its first Vice-President Dewan Reza Ali.

Md Ferdous Rahman arrested Robin Siddiqui (56) from Malibagh area on Thursday afternoon.
Ferdous Rahman, who is the investigation officer of the case, produced Robin in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Md Shahidul Islam on Friday afternoon.
The magistrate then sent him to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj as the IO appealed to the court to keep him in jail until the investigation is completed.
Earlier on December 24 last year, ACC Assistant Director Mohammad Joynal Abedin filed the case against Robin and two others with its Integrated District Office of Dhaka-1.
According to the prosecution, it was alleged that AKM Shamim in collaboration with two others formed fake AD26.com and misappropriated Tk 26,66,340 in the name of AD26.com from the Farmers Bank Ltd (now named Padma Bank Ltd).
