Upazilla Engineer of Rampal Upazilla under Bagerhat district was arrested on Thursday by the Anti -Corruption Commission , Khulna Division with bribe money.
The ACC team recovered 20,000tk. as was paid as a bribe that he demanded . Director of Khulna ACC A.K.M. Jayed Hossain conducted this operation along with other seven officials of Khulna ACC team.
Assistant Director of Khulna ACC team S.M. Shamim Iqbal filed a case against the engineer under Anti -Corruption Act of 1947 under the Section of 161.The case number is 09.
It is learnt that the proprietor of Ranbow Enterprise, a Construction Farm , Sk. Golam Azam ,son of Late Jalal Sheikh of Sreefaltala village of the Upazilla had Tk2,50,000 as security deposit of GPS Verticle Extension Work of West Bashntaly, Parikhaly and Betkata-1 .
When Golam Azam demanded his security deposit, engineer demanded Tk 50,00 when Engineer was taking his demanded bribe from Azam , the ACC team caught him red- handed from his office with bribe money at 11 a.m. on Thursday. At this time the ACC team also recovered nine thousand and seven hundred taka from his pocket and seized the document of the related project.
Nurujjaman told the newsmen that he is a victim of conspiracy and a group designed this plot against him.
