The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday approved the charge sheet against North South University Treasurer Mohammad Shahjahan and former treasurer of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) Air Commodore (retired) Robiul Awal and six others, for forgery of document at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
As the allegations fall under the jurisdiction of the ACC, its Deputy Director Farid Ahmed Patwary filed a case against the eight after a Dhaka court ordered the ACC to probe into the case filed about forgery, Deputy Director of ACC public relations office Muhammad Arif Sadeq told the media.
Earlier, police submitted the charge sheet against six persons. The accused were former Central Chhatra League Vice-President Tariqul Islam Momin, PMO staff Fatema Khatun, Nazim Uddin, Rubel, North South University student Forhad Hossain and former treasurer of Bangladesh University of Professionals’ Air Commodore (retired) M Abdus Salam Azad.

Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, Director-7 of PMO, filed the case with Tejgaon Model Police Station. According to the case, a document with the prime minister’s decision on the three-man education ministry shortlist for the post of treasurer at the NSU was stolen from the PMO.
It also said that PMO staff Fatema stole the document and gave it to Farhad in front of PMO gate-4 on March 1, upon the instructions of Chhatra League leader Toriqul in exchange for Tk 20,000 by bKash for this purpose.

The forged document was then submitted to the President’s Office for approval on March 3, according to the charge sheet, misrepresenting the PM’s decision on who should be the treasurer.
