A man was killed and two others were critically injured due to explosion of an air conditioner (AC) in a
residential hotel in the city’s Gulshan area on Friday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Anwar Hossain, 25. The injured persons identified as Tashib, 32, and Sohel, 33, were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), police said.
Quoting the hotel staff and Fire Service, Gulshan Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said that the blast took place around 3:15pm in the Six Seasan Hotel. Anwar and two others were working at the air conditioner on the top floor of the hotel. Suddenly the AC exploded with huge cracking sound and windowpanes of a nearby house were destroyed.
