Prime Minister’s Media Advisor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury said society has to remain alert so that the elements of anti-liberation forces could not misuse or abuse ICT for expansion of militancy across the country.
“A small number of militants and terrorists are manipulating the ICT potentials and misusing its benefits,” he said this on Sunday while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar titled “Digital Bangladesh: Our Mass Media” held at Bangladesh Press Institute (PIB) in the city.
Chairman of PIB Trustee Board and Editor of the Daily Samakal Golam Sarwar chaired the function, which was also addressed, among others, by BSS Managing Director and Chief Editor Abul Kalam Azad, Dhaka University Professor Dr Mofizur Rahman and noted ICT activist Mostafa Jabbar.
Iqbal Sobhan said it has become an urgency to stop cybercrime in Bangladesh, now a role model country for other developing countries and has already drew attention from President Barrack Obama and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its digitization process.
