Abrar Fahad murder One more witness gives deposition

One more prosecution witness on Wednesday gave his deposition before a tribunal in Dhaka in connection with the murder of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) student Abrar Fahad in October last year.
Judge Abu Zafar Md Kamruzzaman of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 of Dhaka recorded statement of Sub-Inspector Delwar Hossain of Chawkbazar Police Station. The witness was cross-examined by defence lawyers on behalf of the accused in the case. The judge also fixed tomorrow for next hearing of the case.
In his statement, the witness said on October 7 last year he prepared an inquest report of deceased Abrar Fahad at Sher-e-Bangla Residential Hall. He also seized cricket stumps, a sharp weapon and bed sheets from room number 1010 of the hall.
Earlier on October 5, Md Barkat Ullah, father of the victim and also the complainant of the case, gave his deposition and was also cross-examined by defence lawyers.
During today’s hearing, twenty-two accused, now in jail, were produced before the court while three others are still at large.
The same tribunal on September 15 framed charges against all 25 accused in the case.
Abrar, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering department of Buet, died after he was brutally beaten allegedly by some Chhatra League men at Sher-e-Bangla hall of the university in the early hours of October 7, 2019.
