At least six hundred and ninety two new books arrived so far in the first seven days of the month long Amar Ekushey Boi Mela. Of them, 134 are Story books, 132 Novel, 39 Article, 150 Poetry and 19 Rhyme.
The book Spring drew huge visitors, who were mostly youths, students of schools, colleges and universities.
Meanwhile, 118 new books arrived on Sunday at the fair. The new books included 14 Story, 20 Novel, 8 Article, 33 Poetry, 3 Rhyme,9 Dissertations, 2 Biography, 3 Child Literature, 4 Liberation War, 2 Excursion, 2 History, 4 Melodrama, 2 Religious, 2 Science Fiction and 19 Miscellaneous.
“Valobasha Ferey Ferey Asey” of Anis Ahmed published by Muktochinta, “Rashik Rabindranath” of Taposh Roy, “Macro Economic Management In Bangladesh” of Mirza Azizul Islam and “Fulbanu O Anana Galpo” of Rafiq Harirey published by Oitezza, “Idiot Unlimited” of Sumanta Aslam and “Shadesher Sakaler Samajer Chitra” of Ahmad Sharif published by Agami Prokashoni, “Ekattrer Muktijoddha” of Mobarak Hossen Khan and “Khapchhara” of Rabindranath Tagore published by Ahmad Publishing House, “Chalo Firey Jai” of Kabi Nurunnabi Babul published by Shuchipatra, “Generaler Sanghey” of Muntasir Mamun published by Katha Prokash.
A discussion titled “ Bangla Academir Hirokjoyanti: Anubad Karjakrom, Otiet Thekey Bortoman” was held at 4:00 pm in the main podium of academy. Professor Sirajul Islam Chowdhury presided over the function while Professor Abdus Selim presented the keynote.
Niaz Zaman, Professor Kazol Bandopaddhay, Faqrul Alam and Abdullah Al Mamun were present as the discussant.
Later, a fascinating cultural program was held in the main podium. The artistes were Lilly Islam, Fahima Hossen Chowdhury, Shajed Akbar , Salma Akbar and Onima Roy, among others.
At 4:00 pm, a discussion titled “ Bangla Academir Hirokjoyanti: Patthopustak Rachona, Otiet Thekey Bortoman” will be held today (Monday) in the main podium of academy. Professor Ajoy Roy will preside over the function while Shubrata Barua will present the keynote. Ratan Siddiqui, Maloy Bhoumik and Nurnnahar Mukta will present at the discussion.
