Approximately 5 crore people of over 1 cr families across the country have received relief as the government is continuing its humanitarian assistance to mitigate their sufferings in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
According to the information received from the district administrations of 64 districts, as of Saturday, a total of 1,62,817 metric tons of rice have been allocated as relief and of the volume, 1,27,698 metric tons have been distributed among over 4.9953891 crore people of 1.1225220 crore families across the country, said an official handout here on Sunday.
The government has so far allocated cash about Taka 91.5 crore for purchasing relief materials including baby food .
Of the total amount Taka 72.3372264 crore was allocated for relief in cash while Taka 57.3316836 crore has already been distributed.
Besides, Taka 19.14 crore was allocated for baby food aids while Taka 14.5320948 crore has been distributed across the country.
