Directorates of National Consumer Rights Protection and the Rapid Action Battalion’s mobile court have been continuing to recover edible oil across the country.
About three lakh litres soybean and palm oil around the country were recovered.
During the drive mobile court also fined the traders about Tk 18 lakh for illegal stock of the edible oil.
In Khulna, a mobile court has recovered 2.37 lakh liters of edible oil from three trading companies in the city. The establishments have been fined for hoarding.
A joint team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and district administration conducted an operation in the Borobazar area of Khulna on Thursday (12 May), led by Khulna District Administration Executive Magistrate Debashish Basak. “A total of 2.37 lakh of oil was found with the three traders. They have been fined one lakh 60 thousand taka,” Executive Magistrate Debashish Basak told the Media.
“About 73. 32 litres of soybean and 1.63 lakh litres of palm oil were found with Saha Traders, Sonali Enterprise, in Ranjit Biswas & Sons during the operation. Dilip Kumar Saha, the owner of the company, was fined Tk1.60 lakh for this,”he added.
At the same time, a mobile team of the Directorates of National Consumer Rights Protection has seized 42 thousand litres edible oil from Jhenaidah Kaligong Upazilla.
On Monday DNCRP’s Assistant Director Md Ziaul Haque led the drive.
In Chattogram, DNCRP seized one thousand litres edible oil from city’s Chotopole area’s Bismillah store.
DNCRP Deputy Director Md Foyaz Ullah has operated the drive.
Besides, law enforcer agencies, local administration and DNCRP have operated drive and seized edible oil from Gaibanda, Nilfhamari, Sherpur, Cumilla and Khagrachari.
