Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Akia Abe visited Dhaka University (DU) on Sunday. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmad, Pro- Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Shahid Akter Hussain, Treasurer Prof Dr Md. Kamal Uddin and Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Syed Abul Bark Alvi extended a warm welcome to the visiting Japanese Premier.
Along with DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had a brief tour to the exhibition at the Faculty of Fine Arts by artists who studied in Japan under Monbusho Scholarship and students of the Department of Drawing and Painting of the university. He also observed painting demonstration by students and crafting demonstration by Bangladeshi artisan.
DU Vice-Chancellor thanked Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for his visit and presented him an honorary crest of the university. Senior teachers and officials of the university were present during the occasion.
