Abdur Razzak, Shahriar Nafees bid good-bye to cricket

Left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak and left-arm opener Shahriar Nafees bade good-bye to all sorts of cricket competitions on Saturday. Abdur Razzak and Shahriar Nafees announced their retirement from all formats of cricket meets at a press conference in the city’s Mirpur on the same day.
Abdur Razzak will officially join the selectors panel of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The other selectors are Minhajul Abedin Nannu (chief selector) and Habibul Bashar.
On the other hand, Shahriar Nafees will act as an Assistant Manager of the Cricket Operations Committee of BCB.
As it is not possible to play in the cricket competitions after joining the cricket committee of BCB, thus, the veteran, experienced cricketers decided to retire from the cricket meets.
Abdur Razzak played 13 Test matches, 153 ODI matches and 34 T20 matches for Bangladesh. The left-arm spinner captured 207 wickets in ODI cricket, bagged 28 wickets in Test cricket and picked up 44 wickets in T20 cricket.
But Abdur Razzak showed a successful performance in domestic cricket competitions.
He plucked 634 wickets playing 127 First-Class matches. Besides, in List-A cricket he grabbed 412 wickets playing 280 matches.
On the other hand, Shahriar Nafees made his debut in 2005. The left-arm opener played 24 Test matches, 75 ODI matches and one T20 match.
He took part in ODI cricket for Bangladesh in 2011. He scored 2201 runs with an average of 31.44 in ODI cricket. He struck four centuries and 13 half centuries. He scored 1267 runs with an average of 26.39 in Test cricket. He hit one century and seven half centuries in Test cricket. He led Bangladesh team against Zimbabwe in his lone T20 match and defeated Zimbabwe.
Shahriar Nafees performed successfully in domestic cricket competitions. He scored 8141 runs playing 124 First-Class matches. He struck 15 centuries and 48 half centuries with an average of 38.40 in that cricket meet. He played 180 List-A matches. He scored 5269 runs with an average of 32.32. He hit nine centuries and 30 half centuries in that cricket competition.
