Abdur Rakib Montu has been elected General Secretary (GS) of Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF). In the election held on Saturday, he got 96 votes, while his nearest rival Shah Alam polled just 19 votes. Faruk- Montu panel won all the posts.
The other newly elected office bearers of BAF are Nur Uddin Chowddhury Nayan (111 votes), Farukul Islam (96 votes), SM Mortaza Rashid Dara (93 votes), Md Jaedul Alam (93 votes), Md Tofazzal Hossain (80 votes) (Vice-Presidents), Farid Ahmed (95 votes), Mizanur Rahman (80 votes) (Joint-Secretaries) and Jamal Hossain (88 votes) (Treasurer).
The election was held at the National Sports Council from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
The number of voters were 120.
After six years, the election of BAF was held.
