State Minister for Religious Affairs Advocate Sheikh M Abdullah urged the hotel and restaurants owners to shut down their business during the day on the occasion of the holy Ramzan.
The state minister came up with this call while he was addressing a pre-rally function to a welcome the holy Ramzan at the South gate of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque here on Monday morning.
“As per the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we have to take all out preparation by containing price hike of the essentials, initiatives against terrorism, militancy and drugs in order to maintain the sanctity of the holy Ramadan,” said the state minister in his address.
Islamic Foundation has chalked out a month-long programme including religious function, discussion meeting, Iftar mahfil and Islamic book fair to mark the holy Ramzan, he added. Then a rally welcoming the holy Ramzan reached to the Jatiya Press Club after parading the city thoroughfares.
