Two youths, who were abducted from hill district Bandarban, were released after paying ransom money to the abductors on Friday. They were set free after one week of their kidnap, sources said. The victims were identified as Saddam Hossain, son of Osman Goni of Baishari union of Naikhongchari upazila in Bandarban, and Nurul Amin, son of Abdul Karim Munshi of the same area.
Sources said victims Saddam Hossain and Nurul Amin were abducted when they were returning home from Eid Gor Bazar to Baishari at around 10 pm on July 7 last. A gang of armed kidnappers attacked on the road to their village and took them away at the gun point. Another person who was also accomplice of them could manage to flee and inform the families of the victims and the administration as well.
However, the abductors called Osman Goni for ransom over telephone. Osman Goni informed the incident to local Thana and administration. But, police failed to rescue them.
