Abducted official rescued , 2 arrested in Kurigram

An official of Phulbari Upazila Youth Development Department in Kurigram district was abducted at 6pm on Monday from Phulbari Kachari ground and later he was recovered from Dashearchara, an Indian enclave after five hours of abduction.
Phulbari thana Polic filed a case in this connection on Tuesday morning. Two abductors were arrested and they were sent to Kurigram jail on Tuesday.
He is identified as Lal Mahmud 45 an office assistant-cum-computer operator of Youth Development Department. They are Phensidyle trader trader Abu Sayed 28 son of Golam Mowla and Azizul Haque 30 son of Shamser Ali of village Panimaskuti under the upazila.Police and villagers sources said Lutfar Rahman and Azizul Haque are his previous familiar took away him from Kachari ground by a motor bike to Pasnimaskuri Model School area where they handed over him to another abductor Abu Sayed. He was abducted forcibly at gunpoint with a motor bike and took away to Indian 150 Dashear chara SeatMahal near the Kamalpur Vateatary Mosque of the upazila.
They demanded Tk two lakhs as ransom showing life threat. He will be killed if he doesn’t meet the demand of ransom. The abductors compelled him to phone to his wife and his officer to met the demand.
The family of Lal Mahmud informed the matter to Phulbari thana police.On the other hand Lal Mahmud was physically tortured by them Hearing his hue and cry president of India-Bangladesh Enclave Exchange coordination committee Altaf Hossain along with other persons recovered him and caught the abductors and handed over them to police. Phulbari upazila Youth Development Officer Monzur Alam said , they demanded Tk two lakh over mobile phone as ransom. Officer-in-charge of Phulbari police station Bazlur Rashid admitted the incident and told that a case was filed and the arrested two abductors were sent to jail.
