Police rescued a minor girl from Matirhat area in Kamalnagar upazila early Wednesday a day after she had been stolen by an unidentified woman from Kamalnagar Upazial Health Complex.
Officer-in-charge of Kamalnagar Police Station M Kabir Ahmed said being tipped off, a team of policemen conducted a drive at Matirhat to rescue the minor girl, Mim.
At that time, the accused woman fled the scene keeping the girl on the lap of an old woman sensing the presence of law enforcers.
However, the identity of the woman could not be found.
Earlier, mother of the victim Shamsun Nahar went to Kamalnagar Upazila Health Complex along with her daughter Mim on Tuesday noon.
At that time, she gave Mim to an unknown woman and went to collect ticket.
Later, the woman fled with Mim from the hospital.
Shamsun Nahar filed a case with Kamalnagar Police Station on Tuesday afternoon in connection with the incident.
