Police on Friday recovered the body of a seven-year-old girl, who was abducted three days ago, from Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh.
The victim was identified as Sanjida Akter, daughter of Shahjahan Akanda of Ram Chandrapur village of the upazila, reports our local correspondent quoting Shah Kamal Akanda, officer-in-charge of Detective Branch (DB) of police in Mymensingh.
Kamal said the second grader girl was abducted by unknown persons in front of her house on Tuesday noon leaving a note with a mobile number and asked them to contact.
Family members tried to reach the abductors repeatedly but found their mobile phone switched off, he said, adding that after failing to find the whereabouts, the girl’s father filed a general diary with Tarakanda Police Station on Wednesday.
Afterwards, the abductors contacted with the family members and demanded Tk 20,000 for her release and
threatened to kill the girl otherwise, said the OC.
But family members failed to contact them.
Today, the local people found the body in a jungle nearby her house this morning and informed police, the OC said, adding that police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
