The newly-wed bride, who was abducted by a gang of miscreants at Rasulpur village in Araihazar upazila on Friday, was rescued from
Kaliganj area of the upazila on Sunday night.
The bride was identified as Subarna Akter, daughter of Abdul Latif. Sources at RAB-11 said Subarna Aktar, daughter of Abdul Latif got married to Najim, son of Zahirul Haque of Putina village in Rupganj upazila on Friday last.
After completing all the formalities of marriage, when a decorated private car carrying the bride and the bridegroom reached
Rasulpur village in Araihazar upazila at about 6:00 pm, a gang of miscreants, riding two CNG-run three wheelers, attacked the car.
Later, the miscreants dragged bride Subarna into their vehicle at gunpoint and fled the scene. Father of the bride Latif filed a case with Araihazar Police Station accusing six people including one Mofazzal of Tekpara area. Later, members Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) -11 conducted a drive in Kaliganj area and rescued Subarna at about 10:00 pm on Sunday. The elite force also arrested four people from the spot.
