An abducted baby was rescued from Sidli area under Kalmakanda upazila of the district after 12 hours of her abduction in a joint operation by Police and Detective Branch (DB), Netrakona on Saturday night. The kidnapper was arrested from there.
Police sources said, the victim identified as Maria, 13 months, daughter of Juwel Mia of Moinpur area in the district town was allegedly abducted from her father’s house at the Moinpur area last Friday night. The arrested kidnapper was identified as Sazzatur Rahman Mister, 28, son of Sunafar Mia of village Tarakuri under Netrakona sader upazila.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Netrakona sader police station Amir Toimur Eli said superintendent of police (SP) Netrakona Joydeb Chowdhory closely monitored the combined rescue operation of police and DB police.
