Vandalism case: Abbas, others charge-sheeted

A Police officer on Thursday submitted a charge-sheet against 37 BNP leaders and activists, including the party’s Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas in a Dhaka court in a case filed for vandalism and murder in 2013.
Sub-Inspector Md Mamunur Rashid of Rampura Police Station, submitted the charge-sheet on Thursday afternoon while Magistrate SM Ashiqur Rahman of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka received it.
BNP Standing Committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, Vice-Chairman Sadek Hossain Khoka and Joint-Secretaries General Amanullah Aman and Salahuddin Ahmed are among the accused of the case.
On December 29, 2013, a number of vehicles were vandalised and torched in Malibagh area of the city during the ‘March for Democracy Programme’ of
BNP-led alliance that left a man dead.
SI Al Mamun of Rampura Police Station filed the case in this connection the following day.
