Traditional rivals Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and Abahani Limited split points when their match ended in a goalless draw in the 2nd leg of Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League held on Sunday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
In the day’s match, Mohammedan went attack in the 14th minute when midfielder Masuk Miah Jonny cut a cross from the right flank but forward Jewel Rana’s head went straight to Abahani’s goalkeeper M Zia’s grip.
Abahani came close to scoring in the 66th minute as midfielder Abdul Baten Mazumder Komol curved a cross from right flank but Gambian forward Abdou Darboe’s header narrowly missed the target. With the day’s feat, Mohammedan finished with 38 points from 20 matches while Abahani earned 35 points from 19 matches.
