Midfielder Abu Sayed scored a brace as Abahani Limited, Dhaka continued their winning run in the second phase of TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football beating Bangladesh Police Football Club by 2-1 goals was held on Saturday at Sylhet District Stadium in Sylhet.
Abu Sayed opened an account scoring the first goal for Abahani Limited in the 22nd minute while forward Al-Amin restored the parity for Bangladesh Police Football Club in the 18th minute of the match.
After resumption, Abu Sayed sealed the victory scoring his second goal for Abahani Limited in the 68th minute of the match.
Bangladesh Police Football Club, who are struggling to improve their position the league table, however tried heart and soul to stage a fight back in the match, but could not convert any in the remaining proceeding.
With the day’s win, the sky blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani Limited again moved to the second position in`the league table with 28 points from 13 matches while Bangladesh Police Football Club remained at their previous credit of 16 points playing the same number of outings.
Earlier, in the first phase, Abahani Limited shared point with Bangladesh Police Football Club whentheir match ended ina 1-1 goal draw held at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
