Abahani Limited will face Railway Sporting Club in the opening match of the Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium today. The match begins at 4.00 pm.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation will arrange the hockey meet under auspices of Green Delta Insurance Company Limited.
A total of 12 teams will take part in the hockey league. They are: Abahani Limited, Usha Krira Chakra, Sadharan Bima Krira Sangha, Ajax Sporting Club, Azad Sporting Club, Sonali Bank SRC, Dhaka Wanderers Club, Dhaka Mohamedan Sporting Club Limited, Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club, Bangladesh Sporting Club, Wari Club and Railway Sporting Club.
To mark the forthcoming hockey competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Hockey Federation on Wednesday. Adviser of Green Delta Insurance Company Limited ASM Muij, Additional Managing Director of Green Delta Insurance Company Limited Najim Tajik Chowdhury, General Secretary of Bangladesh Hockey Federation Abdus Sadeq, Treasurer of the Federation Kazi Mainuzzaman Pila were present at the conference.
